TWL: How long have you worked in the wedding industry?
FF: 13 Years
TWL: How many weddings do you book a year?
FF: Over 150 weddings
TWL: What is your favorite wedding location?
FF: We love going anywhere in the North Georgia Mountains. One of the truly beautiful and unique things about our state are the seasons. In the mountains, the season changes are captured so delicately. Our brides seem to embrace this nature in their personal style and that’s really fun for us.
TWL: What inspires you?
FF: We are inspired by the bride’s personality. We have the opportunity to really get to know the bride at her practice session. We spend hours with her and get to get a feel for what she likes and dislikes. When we see photos of her dress, her flowers…and even her cake – we learn the “Big Picture” of her desires. Nothing makes us more delighted than to make the bride’s dreams come true. When she looks in the mirror and loves the way she looks – we have done our job!
TWL: If you could book a wedding anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
FF: We’d love to work in the Turks and Caicos Islands. We’ve had the chance to travel there, and it has the most beautiful beaches in the world. I can’t imagine a more perfect place for a romantic ocean wedding.
TWL: What do you find most challenging about working in the wedding industry?
FF: The balancing act is always the most challenging aspect of working in the wedding industry, but that’s also one of the best parts. If one doesn’t enjoy working with women – one shouldn’t be in the wedding business. As the owner of Formal Faces, I can honestly say – I adore working with women! Women can be complicated and fun. I love that!
TWL: List 5 words that your friends would use to describe you?
FF: Goofy, Spiritual, Devoted, Detailed, and Social
TWL: What is it about the wedding industry that attracts you? Why is this the job for you?
FF: I love the constant evolution and action! No day is the same. I love working with people, meeting new people and striving to be the very best. The wedding industry, especially hair and makeup offers me the chance to thrive in what I LOVE!
TWL: If you had one wish …
FF: …it would have nothing to do with business. As much as I adore my company – nothing is more important than my family. My only desire is to raise my kids to know the Lord and to love Him with all of their heart and soul. I believe that in all we do God is preparing us for the afterlife. My favorite quote: “We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
TWL: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
FF: Raising teenagers, in a blissfully happy marriage of 21 years; running a strong business in Atlanta making brides beautiful and happy on one of the most precious days of their lives!
